Approximately 70% of people in the UK do not have a Will. If you were to die without a Will in place you would die intestate. Therefore, your estate would not necessarily go to the people you would expect to receive it. Putting off writing a Will and not planning for the inevitable, can cause distress and potential financial hardship for the people left behind if the correct planning is not put in place.

What we offer at J M Wakeling is a friendly, professional service which can be arranged in your own home if you feel more comfortable. We would provide you with information to prepare you for the meeting and inform you of the one-off costs. We make the process from start to finish as smooth running as possible.

This service is not regulated and some firms operate without any appropriate training. Care should be taken when approaching firms who offer a ‘too good to be true’ service as this often turns out to be the case.

We pride ourselves in being members of the IPW. Through choice we have trained and are qualified to give advice on Estate Planning. We continue our IPW compliance duties to uphold our status by being continually monitored through our Continuous Professional Development commitments. We are bound by following strict Code of Conduct set by the IPW. This is the only code for Will writers to be approved by the Trading Standards Institute.

All IPW Members are vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau as fit and proper. We are covered by £2.5 million of professional indemnity insurance.
